(PTI) Gold prices on Friday fell 187 to 50,550 per 10 grams in futures trade as speculators reduced their positions.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold contracts for December delivery traded lower by 187 or 0.37 per cent at 50,550 per 10 grams in a business turnover of 10,750 lots.

Analysts attributed the fall in gold prices to the trimming of positions by participants.

Globally, gold was trading 0.56 per cent lower at USD 1,656.20 per ounce in New York.
