FundsIndia Research shares 2 suggestions to prepare for the volatile markets

The Indian market saw a good up-move in 2022 but with high volatility and investors feeling anxious due to global events.

The Sensex ended 4.4 percent higher in 2022, but traded 5% below its peak level on 140 out of 248 trading days, and 10% below the peak on 60 of those days.


FundsIndia Research suggests two strategies for investors to get ready for 2023 without worrying about fluctuating markets.

Equity markets experience falls between 10 and 205 almost annually, and drops of 30-60% every 7-10 years. Consider these as part of your fundamental assumptions.

Rebalance if any asset class departs from it by more than 5 percent from the original asset allocation.

If the market volatility last year didn't keep you up at night, you're good to go for 2023.

However, if 2022 has given you nightmares, you're probably overexposed to stocks and it's time to review your original asset allocation.

Have faith in your investment strategies and be aware of long-term market expectations.
