Formed at the height of thedot-com bubble in May 1999, Tanla Platforms Limited, previously known as Tanla Solutions Ltd, is a cloud communications company based in Hyderabad, India. The company provides value-added services in the cloud communications space.

The stock, which has a market cap of 23,875 crore has risen over 150 percent just in the last 1 year.

The stock was listed in 2007 at 265 per share which was doubled in just 1 year. However, after the 2008 crash and subsequent market corrections, the stock fell to its all-time low of 2 by 2013.

It then started to recover slowly but saw a sharp spike in mid-2020. Since then it has been on a rise.

The recent rally in the stock comes on the back of its collaboration with Vodafone Idea in December 202. The CPaaS firm has announced its collaboration with telecom operator Vi to provide secure and encrypted international messaging traffic on the Vi network. This partnership centered on Wisely - a cloud-based platform co-developed with Microsoft, is set to lead the global enterprise market in digital interactions and is expected to go live in Q4 21-22.

The company is one of the world's largest communications platform-as-a-service (CPaaS) players and processes more than 800 billion interactions annually.

For the quarter ended December 2021, Tanla Platforms reported decent earnings. Its net profit fell 22 percent to 26.6 crore in December 2021 quarter vs 34 crore in the year-ago quarter.

Its revenue, however, rose from 251 crore in the December 2020 quarter to 364 crore in the latest quarter.

In December 2021, promoters of the firm increased their stake. As per a BSE filing, Mrs. D Tanuja Reddy, Promoter of the Company acquired a stake in 2 entities that hold 18,46,720 equity shares in Tanla Platforms Limited.

As per the data, promoters hold a 43.7 percent stake in the firm (As of December 2021 quarter) meanwhile, FPIs have a 13.5 percent stake in the firm.
