AMFI says new SIPs registered in December reach over 23 lakh; 12 key points

Association of Mutual Funds of India (AMFI), an umbrella body of all mutual funds in India, said systematic investment plans (SIPs) for the month of December 2023 rose to 13, 573 crore, up from 13, 306 crore in November.

It also said that the total number of new SIPs in December rose to 23,24,070.

  • SIP contribution witnessed an increase in the month gone by. December monthly data shows SIP contribution of INR 13,573.08 crores compared to INR 13,306.49 crores in the month of November 2022.
  • Mutual Fund Folios crossed all-time high at 14,11,19,590 and Retail MF Folios too at all-time high at 11,29,26,697
  • Mutual Fund Industry Net AUM at INR 39,88,735.37 crores, AAUM at INR 40,76,170.53 crores
  • Retail AUMs (Equity+Hybrid+Solution Oriented Schemes) in December 2022 stood at INR 20,55,212 crores and the Average AUM stood at INR 20,88,946 crores
  • No. of Folios under retail schemes (Equity + Hybrid + Solution Oriented Schemes) at11,29,26,697
  • Number of SIP accounts stood at 6,12,42,531 for the month of December 2022 by a net addition of 7,85,102 from the month ofNovember which was at 6,04,57,429
  • SIP AUM stood at INR 6,74,666.32 for December 2022. SIP AUM for the month of November was INR 6,83,851.80crores
  • New SIP registered for the month of December 2022 are 23,24,070
  • Total 36 schemes were launched, out of which 24 schemes are open ended and 12 are close ended schemes, introduced in various categories with total funds mobilised INR 8,486 crores
  • Gold ETF is at INR 21,455.35 Crore in the month of December 2022.
  • Mutual Fund folios have been continuously crossing the highest ever milestone since the last three months. This indicates a healthier and disciplined investment habit and systematic mode of investment by small investors
  • Index Funds have shown a net inflow of INR 6,736.52 crore in the month of December 2022 as compared to INR 8,601.73 crores in the month of Nov 2022
