How are stock SIPs different from mutual fund SIPs?

Stock SIPs are a method of investing in stocks in regular intervals, such as weekly, fortnightly or monthly. 


Stock SIPs can be done in varied stocks, providing diversity and cutting down the risk to some extent.

The facility to pause or halt SIPs is also available in stocks, just like in mutual funds.

Stocks are sold in the stock market at the prevailing price while mutual fund units are sold via AMC at the existing NAV.

However, stock SIPs are not as flexible as mutual fund SIPs.

Investors should be aware of the pros and cons of stock SIPs before investing.

Investors can use all the mutual fund like facilities such as systematic investment, systematic withdrawal and systematic transfers.
