What's in there for small investors? Financial advisors answer

 The Union Budget 2023 is set to be presented on February 1 and will be the final full budget before the 2024 general elections. 


Government should increase the Section 80C limit under the Income Tax Act, 1961.

They can look to rationalize capital gains tax and increase the lower tax slabs to 20 lakh of income.

Long-term capital gains tax rate should be removed for equity investments if held for 24 months.

The threshold restrictions for determining whether an asset is classified as long-term or short-term for tax purposes should be simplified.


All these measures are expected to empower investors and help them grow in the long run.

 It is hoped that the forthcoming Budget will resolve the issues faced by investors.
