Gold surges rupees 180, silver gains rupees 400 on September 18, 2023
Gold prices in the national capital rose by rupees 180 to reach rupees 60,200 per 10 grams on Monday.
Silver prices also saw an increase of rupees 400, reaching rupees 74,400 per kilogram.
The previous day, gold closed at rupees 60,020 per 10 grams.
These price gains were attributed to a positive trend in overseas gold markets.
In the global market, gold was trading at USD 1,927 per ounce, while silver was at USD 23.10 per ounce.
Investors are expecting a pause in interest rate hikes by the Federal Reserve at its upcoming policy meeting, which has influenced gold prices.
The steady performance of gold follows a recovery seen towards the end of the previous week.
Saumil Gandhi, a senior analyst at HDFC Securities, provided insights into the price increase in the Delhi markets.
