Health insurance is an integral part of financial planning and security in India. It Is important because it provides financial protection against the high costs of medical care. It allows individuals to access necessary healthcare services without worrying about the financial burden.

Buying a health insurance policy for yourself and your family is important because medical care is expensive, especially in the private sector and hospitalisation can burn a whole lot of your pocket money and derail your finances.

To cater to the post-pandemic health needs of people, Go Digit General Insurance has recently launched three new plans under Digit Health Insurance policy - Digit Double Wallet plan, Digit Infinity Wallet plan, and Digit Worldwide Treatment plan.

Here is the review of Go Digit Infinity Wallet Plan and their features which cater to the needs of common people post pandemic.

Age requirements and sum insured

The Go Digital health insurance plan welcomes individuals of all ages, making it accessible to everyone. Furthermore, this plan offers a flexible range of coverage options, allowing policyholders to select a sum insured of up to 3 crore to cater to their specific needs.

What types of hospitalisation are included in the coverage?

With Go Digit, all hospitalisation expenses are encompassed, whether they arise from an illness, accident, critical illness, or even pandemics such as Covid-19. This coverage extends to multiple hospitalizations, as long as the cumulative expenses remain within your specified sum insured.

Furthermore, there exist distinct room categories with varying rental rates, similar to the tariff structure of hotel rooms. Go Digit's plans provide the advantage of not having a room rent limit, as long as the cost falls below your designated sum insured. This means you won't need to bear any expenses out of your own pocket in such cases.

Sum insured backup

With this feature, you'll receive 100% of your original sum insured amount as an extra layer of protection.

Here's how it works: Imagine your policy's sum insured is 5 lacs and file a claim for 50,000, their system will automatically activate the wallet benefit. This means you will have a total of 4.5 lac plus 5 lac sum insured available for the rest of the year. It's important to note that to benefit from this backup coverage, any single claim cannot exceed the base sum insured, as demonstrated in the previous example where the maximum claimable amount remains 5lacs.

Cumulative bonus

Go Digit provides a remarkable incentive wherein you stand to receive 50% of your base sum insured for every claim free year, with the potential to accumulate up to 100%. This translates to a substantial bonus, an extra amount added to your overall sum insured as a reward for maintaining good health.

Waiting period

The waiting period is subject to specific conditions. For pre-existing diseases, a waiting period of 3 years applies, if you are already suffering from a disclosed disease or condition at the time of policy inception. Additionally, there exists a waiting period of 2 years for specific illnesses. For a full list of exclusions, do read their policy wording.

Organ donor coverage

Go Digit ensures comprehensive coverage for organ donors. Not only do they cover the expenses directly associated with organ donation, but also extend the support to cover pre and post-hospitalization costs for the donor. The expenses are covered up to 5% of the claim amount approved in respect of harvesting expenses.

In-built personal accident

Go Digit's In-Built Personal Accident coverage provides comprehensive protection of up to 1 lakh in the event of accidents leading to death within 12 months from the date of occurrence. In these unfortunate instances, the policy guarantees a full payout of the insured sum to the nominee.

Pre and post hospitalisation medical expenses

This policy provides comprehensive coverage for both pre and post-hospitalization medical expenses. It encompasses expenses incurred during a span of 60 days prior to hospital admission and continues to provide coverage for 180 days following discharge from the hospital.

Ambulance coverage options

Go Digit provides two comprehensive approaches for covering ambulance expenses. The first entails emergency air ambulance services, which address critical health situations that can arise while travelling. Go Digit ensures swift hospital transportation and reimburses expenses up to the base sum insured for airlifting or helicopter transport to a medical facility. The second option is road ambulance services, offering reimbursement of up to 1% of the sum insured, with a maximum limit of 15,000.

Health checkups

Go Digit covers your health check-up expenses at a rate of 0.25% of the base sum insured, with a maximum limit of up to 1,500 per year. What's even better is that there are no restrictions on the types of tests you can undergo.

Go Digit Infinity Wallet is a health insurance policy offered by Go Digit General Insurance Company Limited.
