Shares of Adani Enterprises Ltd slumped over 5 percent in Thursday's trade after the National Stock Exchange (NSE) placed the company, along with Adani Power Ltd, and Adani Wilmar Ltd, under the framework of the short-term additional surveillance mechanism (ASM).

However, shares of Adani Power and Adani Wilmar were trading in the green zone. The circular stated that the order would take affect on Thursday, March 9.

The ASM framework is applied to stocks that have particularly high volatility. These actions are primarily intended to warn investors to exercise extreme caution and advise them to exercise due research when dealing in such stocks.

In February, NSE had placed Adani Enterprises, Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd, and Ambuja Cements under short-term additional surveillance measure framework.

The promoters of Adani Transmission and Adani Green Energy on March 6 pledged equity of 0.76 percent and 0.99 percent, respectively, in favour of SBICAP Trustee Company, a unit of State Bank of India (SBI).

The action was taken a day after the Adani Group revealed that it had paid off 7,374 crore in share-backed funding before its April 2025 maturity.

Adani Green Energy, Adani Total Gas, Adani Transmission, and Adani Power were up 5 percent each, while Adani Wilmar gained around 4 percent and Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone lost over 2 percent in Thursday's trade.
