Stock brokers to maintain websites for greater transparency with investors

SEBI released a circular that requires stock brokers and depository participants to provide all necessary information on their websites with effect from Aug 16, 2023. 

The website should include basic details about the broker, contact details of key managerial personnel, step by step procedure for opening an account etc. 

Brokers and DPs are required to report the URL of the website to stock exchanges/depositories within a week of the circular coming into effect.

SEBI also released a circular relating to the introduction of ISD to provide relevant data points to researchers, policy makers, market analysts etc. 

The ISD will be made available at stock exchanges and depositories.

SEBI has consulted stakeholders to design the ISD.

SEBI is taking steps to ensure greater transparency with investors.


SEBI is introducing these measures to provide better services to investors.
