The Employee Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has granted an additional three months, extending the deadline until December 31, 2023, for employers to upload wage details related to higher wages for pension purposes, reported PTI. This extension comes in response to requests from Employers and Employers' Associations, as indicated in a statement from the Labour Ministry. The original deadline for uploading wage details, which was set to expire on September 30, has been prolonged.
The Labour Ministry said, “Now, again many representations have been received from Employers & Employers' Associations wherein requests have been made to extend further time period for uploading wage details of applicant pensioners/members. 5.52 lakh applications for validation of option/joint options are still pending with employers, as of September 30, 2023.”
Hence, the request has been reviewed with empathy, and the Chairman of the Central Board of Trustees has decided to extend the deadline for employers to submit wage details and related information until December 31, 2023, it said.
Considering the appeals made by Employers and Employers' Associations to extend the deadline for uploading wage details of applicant pensioners/members, the employers have been granted an additional three-month extension.
